Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is an American singer-songwriter. Her name is also her infamous nickname, The Queen of Funk. She has won of ten Grammys throughout her lengthy career that spans more than fifty years. Billboard named her the 65th-most popular dancer of all time. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, she was first introduced to jazz by her maternal grandmother at an early age. The beginning years of her career, she performed with diverse band. She later joined the group Rufus. When she was twenty the singer released her first album along in the band. One year later they won the first Grammy. Then, a few years later, she debuted as an independent artist and she released her debut self-titled album. After that, she released numerous albums over the years, including 'Echoes for an Era", 'The Women I Am', and "Funk This". In addition to her musical contributions, her charitable work has brought her lots of recognition. She created the Chaka Khan Foundation to help kids from families with low incomes, along with children with autism. Khan is also an actor occasionally. She portrayed her character Sister Carrie, the lead role in the musical "Mama, I'd Like to Sing'. Chaka Chaka Chaka
